TAIPEI, TAIWAN (December 19, 2025) – Amidst the global megatrends of Artificial Intelligence (AI), HwaCom Systems Inc. (6163.TWO) continues to leverage its extensive system integration experience across four core domains: ICT, Smart Applications, Digital Media, and Cyber Security. HwaCom provides state-of-the-art solutions for government, finance, high-tech, and telecommunications sectors, assisting clients in building information systems that are both resilient and forward-looking.

Smart Transportation and Smart Pole Integration

In 2025, HwaCom has achieved continued breakthroughs in the transportation field. Fusing edge computing and cloud technologies, the Smart Pole Solution integrates diverse applications, including traffic signal control, tech-assisted enforcement, traffic flow analysis, smart lighting, environmental sensing, security surveillance, information broadcasting, emergency rescue, and smart energy. The solution leverages artificial intelligence to improve urban management and has been adopted across the country, mainly in the commercial districts.

Edge AI and Digital Twins in Traffic Management

As AI applications flourish in enterprises, the transportation sector is no exception. HwaCom’s proprietary AI-powered image recognition technologies and the traffic management platform solutions that leverage digital twins technology have been introduced to the freeway. It analyzes dynamic information such as traffic congestion, queue lengths, and accidents in real-time, enabling drivers to respond to changes calmly and effectively through broadcasting services on C-V2X, a wireless communication technology.

Leading the Way in V2X Standards and D-City

Over years, HwaCom has been actively participating in the formulation of the Traffic Controller to Roadside Open Standard (TCROS) in Taiwan. In collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, HwaCom has established the country’s first open connected smart transportation demonstration field, "D-City,” in New Taipei City. Officially launched at the end of 2025, D-City offers nine diverse application scenarios integrated with “ten plus two” communication standards for testing and verification.

As the North Concourse of Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport’s Terminal 3 enters trial operations, the new hub has quickly emerged as a focal point of the global aviation industry. At this important milestone, the Terminal 3 People Mover System (PMS), in which HwaCom has participated in the design and deployment, introduces innovative unmanned autonomous electric buses. The system is supported by a smart Operation Control Centre, integrating the Vehicle Traffic Management System to enable vehicle cruising control, autonomous operation management, and real-time monitoring. With that, the PMS delivers a safe, efficient, and seamless transfer experience for passengers, positioning it as a key enabler of smart airport development.

Comprehensive Cyber Security

Given the ubiquity of IoT applications, HwaCom integrates top-tier industry technologies to provide full-lifecycle cybersecurity solutions, strictly safeguarding information and personal data during the introduction of new technologies. Leveraging group advantages, its subsidiary, Open Information Security Inc. (OIS), is dedicated to providing comprehensive protection services for government and enterprise clients.

The company offers compliance consulting, AI-assisted detection, cloud protection, zero trust security and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) solutions. Simultaneously, through professional MDR (Managed Detection and Response) and SOC (Security Operations Center) teams, threat intelligence is analyzed in real-time to achieve rapid verification and precise response. This year, the company further collaborated with a national university to establish a Cyber Security Base, deepening the R&D of key technologies and talent cultivation in Taiwan.

Responsible AI

As AI rapidly permeates various industries, HwaCom, valuing corporate social responsibility, has incorporated the "Responsible AI" concept into its software development process, ensuring that every stage—from design and development to verification, deployment, and operation—adheres to responsible principles.

Looking ahead to 2026, HwaCom will not only continue to offer tailored AI solutions for its government and enterprise clients but also strengthen digital resilience through its security solutions and technology layout, allowing clients and partners to steadily achieve greater success in the AI megatrend.
